Rules:
1. Exhibitors must bring the opened bag of King Arthur Flour or submit a UPC label from the flour bag when entering the loaf of yeast bread.

2.  Exhibitor must have a legible recipe.  Directions for preparation the recipe must be clear; measurements should be in level cups, tablespoons, teaspoons or fractions thereof; also include pan size, cooking temperature, number of servings and any other pertinent information.

3.  Upon entry, recipes will become property of the NC State Fair and King Arthur Flour, which reserves the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish and use for publicity, promotion or advertizing without compensation.

4.  To be a c
ontestant, recipe and entry form needs to be entered with product at county fair on August 5 from 8:00 am - 11:30 am in the Community Building, Garnett, KS.  Entry forms not completed fully with phone numbers, etc. , products will not be accepted.

5.  Criteria for King Arthur Flour Baking Contest:  Taste - 50 points; Overall Appearance + Creativity -25 points, and Texture - 25 points for a total of 100 points.

6.  Entry forms will be online here or at the Extension Office, 411 South Oak, Garnett, KS.

Jarden Home Brands marketers of Ball and Kerr Fresh Preserving Products is proud to recognize today's fresh preserving (canning) enthusiasts.  First and Second Place Awar
ds will be given to individuals judged as the best in designated catagories.

A panel of judges will select the best two entries for Fruit, Vegetable, Pickle, and Soft Spread catagories.  Entries must be preserved in Ball Jars sealed with Ball Lids and Bands, or preserved in Kerr jars sealed with Kerr Lids and Bands.  In addition, soft spread entries must be prepared using Ball Pectin: Classic, Low or No-Sugar Needed or Liquid.

Entries designated First Place from each category will receive:
-Two $5 Coupons for BAll or Kerr Fresh Preserving Products and one Free coupon for Ball Pectin


Entries designated Second Place from each category will receive:
-One
$5 Coupon for BAll or Kerr Fresh Preserving Products and one Free coupon for Ball Pectin


Red Star Yeast and coupons will be given to all contestants entering in the Open Class Baking Division.  A RED STAR apron, a Red Star flexible cutting board, and a Red Star measuring cup will be given to the top yeast bread from classes 1 - 7 in the county fairbook.
